New skills!

This weekend has been very busy. Together with other members of our local guild, we have learned new skills from Anne Beier Finnestad. For me a bit out of the comfort zone, but very fun and inspiring.  I have no finishes, but three ongoing projects.

More photos at our blog here!

Sew alongs and more fun!

Her er ei lita oversikt over ting eg syslar med for tida. Sjekk gjerne linkane og bli inspirert!

Finally I had some time to sew this weekend. I have joined Laila in a low volume plus quilt sew along. These blocks are for sure addictive! Look here at Laila's blog for more info, in case you would like to join too. I have tested out the mini version, and will go for that in the first project.  And after that I have a plan...

Together with Turid I have joined a Scandibee sew along. The first queen bee has asked for a couple of "slabs", and here I have done som testing. This one will be for myself. I will try to follow along the rainbow scrap challenge, the colour for January is blue. Maybe I will make a couple of slabs each month, as I have quite a big amount of scraps, and it is so enjoyable to "make one's own" fabric from scraps.

I have also tried paper foundation piecing without touching the paper. I have never done this before. I will show you how to do this in a future blog post. This is a Mini, and is quilted in a big spiral.
This will be finished tonight as I follow Mammon on TV.
This is in the category "learining new things", which I want to do all the time...

Denyse Schmidt's old fabric line Katie Jump Rope has been released once more, and I had a kick off transaction with Etsy to get these very cheerful and wonderful fabrics.
But now I have bought enough fabric for many months, and will not buy anything for 6 months. Sorry you nice shop ladies out there.....

Sew my Stash 2016!  This is an Instagram happening. I like it. I will do it. I will not just collect and cherish my fabric, I will make nice things from them.

I'll  quote Leah Day: "Until next time, let's go quilt"!

Merry Christmas!

This Christmas is wet and windy, but cosy inside the houses. Here are some glimpses of inside of our house this Christmas Eve.
The very smiling gnome was made by Aron last year. The blue embroideries were made many years ago by my daughters at school. The Scandinavian Christmas wall hanging was made last year, only the stippling was done the day before the day (1)........

Her er nokre glimt frå julafta i heimen vår, pluss litt gåver.

These two cushions with Denyse Smith fabric has got new inner food. They are my favourites.

Audhild and Tinka, our samojed 14 1/2 years old. Myself is mirrored in the window.

My husband and Tinka, she remembers from year to year that there is something for her under the tree...

My daughter Sunniva with her husband and two gorgeous sons. They visited us earlier, as they celebreted Christmas Eve at their own home.

A Tilda gnome maiden.

Isak's stocking was made the day before the day (2).......
It is very similar to Aron's stocking.

A gift for myself! This authour is one of my favourites.

Beautiful flowers from one of my two sisters.

Aron's sweather was finished the day before the day  (3)..................

Two mouse hearts were finished the day before the day  (4)...............
Ufos, designed by Hanne.

Four of eight to be placemats for Sunniva.
Disappearing ninepatch with many twists.
Were finished some days ago!

FINISHED new and old runners and cushions.

First of all, thank you for overwhelming response on my last blog post. I'm sorry if you misunderstood a little, the SBS quilt was the start of my virtual blogging and quilting life, and my first big quilt. I had of course made quilts before, but this one I regard as my apprentice quilt.
Through the trunk show I have found so many new bloggers and quilters who make wonderful projects. I have been online a lot reading through their blogs!
Tonight I will show 4 ufos and two newer finishes. I'm so happy that my ufos are moving forward! And still I have two blue ufo projects ready for quilting....

Her er 4 ufoar og 2 nye ferdige produkt.

Her er to ferdige puter. Nokon kjenner kanskje att stilen frå dei to løparane eg laga i same stoffet.

Some update today, I have made 4 big Smitten blocks, still uncertain if I will make the whole quilt or just playing :)
And some pics from my Out in the blue trip with two good friends, a lovely gift for my 60th anniversary!
