City Sampler by Tula Pink finished!

Today my City Sampler by Tula Pink was finished!

Facts about this quilt:

The quilt measures 2 x 2,40 m. 

Most of the blocks are made from Tula Pink's series Chipper and Eden. The sashing is grey/black chambray

The quilt back is fromWindham Fabricks by Whistler Studios.

The batting is Quilters Dream cotton, the best batting I have ever tried, will highly recocmmend it! 

All work with this quilt has been done by me.

This project started as a Sew Toghether at a Scandinavian Facebook group.

Today has been a wonderful day with warm summer weather. We have been hiking with DD1 and her sons in a beautiful valley nearby.

One Monthly Goal - July

My goal for July is to put together City Sampler (and optionally to finish it..), and to quilt Life is beautiful.

Monthly goal of June.

Some update on Life is Beautiful. As I reached the May goal of finishing stitching, I have decided to go on with this quilt and try to finish the quilt top within June. I don't think I will use the quilt as you go method for this quilt, even though that's an option in the pattern. 

Now I feel safe with the method of reverse applique on machine (read previous post), and I am not afraid of quilting bigger quilts on machine either.

But all the same I have to do some more stitching when talking, travelling, looking at TV and so on, therefore I have pulled out another similar quilt, with Norwegian text, designed Wollf and Juul. This quilt has a major stitchery in the middle, which I finished years ago... the rest has rest in peace up to this moment... It's rather strange how these quilts still appeal to me, even after my more modern revolution the last years.

Då har eg drege fram stoff som eg har samla til monteringa av Life is Beautiful, og har som mål for juni å gjere ferdig denne toppen. 

Elles har eg og funne fram Alle fugler av Wollf og Juul (sjå link over), som eg begynte på i ein av sjukdomsperiodane mine. Då broderte eg det store midtstykket. Resten har lege gøymt i kassa til no. Det er utruleg godt å ty til eit stitchery i ledige stunder når ein ikkje har maskina innan rekkevidde. Og eit godt tips er no å "preppe" rikeleg, slik at ein ikkje går tom...

Ha ei fin pinse!

One month goal is accomplished, to finish stitching the blocks for Life is Beautiful by Helen Stubbings.  I have stitched on these blocks from time to time over the past 4 - 5 years, I started it up during one of my tough periods, more here.

My friend Hanne ordered the book for me. Now I have done all the blocks. At first I unintentionally stitched the outer line, then I realized this was "wrong" according to the pattern. I decided to do it MY way, and do a little of both... And so will the construction of the quilt be, a little to the side of the original. I like this way of thinking, at last I have liberated, do it MY way, also thanks to Hanne.

And now I have started the reverse applique, with very good help from Hanne's tutorial, here!

Could I perhaps to get this quilt done in June??

No har eg fullført stitchinga på Life is Beautiful, som eg starta på ca. 2012/13. Sjå link over.

Eg hadde som mål å gjere dette i løpet av mai. Det blir litt annleis enn originalen, men who cares? Det er heldigvis lov å gå utanom boksen, gjere ting til sitt på sin måte, og det er herleg befriande!

På denne måten kan ein få ferdig mange store ufoar, tenkjer eg.

Eg vil anbefale å lese Hanne Schneider sin framgangsmåte for reverse applique på maskin. No har eg skjønt det!

No prøver eg meg med blogging via nettbrett. Vi har vore utan nett ei halv veke, men vi er lova reparasjon i mårå... så vil tida vise. Eitt er sikkert, det er godt å ha mobilnett i reserve. Denne vennskapsstjernekvilten er blitt til i løpet av 2 dagar. Den skal vere med meg på ei heilt spesiell reise😉, så eg hadde press på meg. Meir om det seinere. 

Desse blokkene går sake framover, og vil eg prøve å sy dei ferdig denne månaden.
