Trunk show!

Soma at Whims and Fancies is hosting an online trunk show, in which I wish to participate (inspired by Turid).

This is the start of my virtual quilting life! In August 2007 (I started blogging in Februar that year), I got in contact with Anne Ida, who had a nice blog and wrote about Jennifer Chiaverini, her novels from Elm Creek, and her Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, from one of the novels. Then I was hooked! This was a time I hadn't a lot of fabric, and was not used to spend a lot of money on fabric, so I created the whole quilt out of scraps. This quilt became an apprentice quilt for me. In a period of life with much worries, this became a source of comfort and contemplation.

"The start"

Then began my period of collecting civil war reproduction fabric!

I became hooked, and bought lots and lots of fabric from USA. I made several small wall hangings in this style.

Years after, my stash of modern fabric was getting bigger,

and I had a break from that CW thing...
This is Swoon.

Baby quilt, no pattern.

LeMoyne star BOM, hand pieced.

How could I learn to free motion quilt? An online sew along with Leah Day was the answer!
Again, only fabric from stash, except from the flannel on the back.
Quilt as you go. I learned so much from Leah!

Modern medallion, a sew along by Gnome Angel.
I loved making this quilt, so liberating!

My Small World Quilt along, again an online thing. Pattern from Quiltmania, designer Jen Kingwell, who I met in Oslo some months ago! A very fun project.

...

I love scraps and scrap quilts, and here is Bonnie Hunter's Roll Roll Cotton boll, her mystery quilt from 2010.

Some of my table runners.

Some Christmas projects.

Hope you enjoyed my trunk show!
Have a nice week!
